My own puppets: Rod puppets

Frumosara (ghost)

This is made of translucent fabric over a wire structure. In performance, this ghost was backlit with red light on a dark stage, which made the puppet glow a dim red. I was influenced a lot by Julie Taymor's puppets for "The King Stag."

In the play ("Fiddler on the Roof"), she appears in a dream to her granddaughter, threatening her. The puppet is over 12 feet tall, to emphasize the threatening nature of the interaction.
